wow. they really bruised you good! i solemnly swear that if/when i become a paramedic and start IVs that I will give up long before injuring a patient more than when they first came to see me. lol, though I'm guessing it couldn't hurt THAT bad. sorry about what happened. i hope you feel better!

That's what my arms and hands look like when I get IVs. I'm a crappy vein person. It is not fun. ice packs will help with the bruises. I'm so glad you're feeling better. *hugs*

They can't find my veins, either. I have a rule, and I tell the phlebotamist when he or she comes in the room: each person gets to stick me five (5) times. That's it, only five times per person. I tell them up front: once you've stuck me with a needle five times, you're done, go get someone else to try. Usually, the hospital staff don't believe me, and claim they'll get it right on the first stick. Nope. Never happens. More often than not, the first person uses up his or her five tries. Sometimes, even the second person uses up their five tries, too. I've experienced times where three different people had to try their hand at it. Do you remember Sue Downs from Hburg ward? I was in RMH one time, and she was the FOURTH person they called in... she got a vein on her second try, but by that time, I'd already been stuck 15 times. However, I don't bruise as easily as you do, apparently. I've never turned blue like that... My condolences.
