More Creative Memories Projects - Lovin' It!

I'm having my Creative Memories Holiday Open House on Saturday. I've partnered with my up-line so that she can "show me the ropes" so to speak. I am grateful that I have someone to work with, but it has proven to be a lot of work. In some ways, I will be really excited to do it all on my own next year, but in other ways, I'll be dreading it because it's, well, a lot of work. Are you sensing a theme here? But this is neither here nor there, and my goal for the next three days is simply to get through them.

So one of my "projects" for the open house was to make this cute little calendar. It's designed to fit into one of our Picfolio albums, and I am really pleased with the way that it turned out -- on my computer at least -- Costco kind-of sabotaged some of the pictures so they are in the process of being reprinted.

So for today's post (far before midnight, I might add), I am sharing my calendar with you.

New Designs

Oooh, I am having so much fun with my new StoryBook Creator Plus program. I'm having a Creative Memories Open House in a couple of weeks, so I've been doing some "outside the box" designs with this new program, just to show that it is so much more than just "StoryBooks" - though, I have to say that the StoryBooks should be more than enough reason to buy it.

Anyway, I thought I'd show you what I came up with today... they are all "photo cards", so they are definitely 'stand alone' but there is no reason why you couldn't mount them onto cardstock and turn them into actual cards. The graduation one is 5x6 which is apparently the new "cool" size for photo cards as that is all that Costco is offering this year in their "personalized Christmas card" section. The other two are the standard 4x6 size. Enjoy!

What's A Routine?

Today I did a considerable amount of "catching up" - primarily on my Creative Memories business. I am glad that I finally buckled down and took care of many loose ends, even though there are still many more to deal with. I think the steps that I took today will save me a lot of time in the long run because I have taken some steps to help streamline orders and other business tasks.

I've realized that a lot of problems I face in my life are because of a lack of self-discipline. I've always disliked routines, and I seem to have a talent for procrastinating. I am planning on taking some steps to remedy this by first reading a book called "Eat That Frog" by Brian Tracy . It has been recommended to me by my Creative Memories up-line. I have to be honest, I'm a little doubtful that it will work (because you can't teach an old dog new tricks), but I am going to give it a shot (because Flylady says you can learn new habits by doing your new habit consistently for 30 days). So maybe there is hope for me after all!

Remember to set your clocks back an hour tonight. Most everyone I have talked to is very excited about the time change because they get to sleep an extra hour. The only way I can figure out how to get an extra hour of sleep is to go to bed an hour earlier - because heaven knows that my kids will rely on their body clocks to wake up which means they will be up at 6:30 in the morning instead of 7:30. Oi!

Digital Scrapbooking

When I decided to become a Creative Memories Consultant again, it was because I was really excited about the possibilities of digital scrapbooking. I wasn't sold on it, but I was fascinated by it. I also knew that it was a fairly hot market, and I thought it might be a good ground-floor opportunity. I also knew, that the discount I would get as a consultant, would help feed my traditional scrapbooking addiction.

Well, I am getting more and more addicted to digital scrapbooking by the day. It is so much fun! I love computers! I love scrapbooking! I am telling you, it is a PERFECT fit for me. The program created by Creative Memories is phenomenal. You can do SO much with it, but it's really quite easy to use. The hardest part is simply that BECAUSE you can do so much with it, there is A LOT to learn. I'm getting fairly proficient with the thing, but I am guessing that there are hundreds of tricks that I haven't come anywhere near to discovering yet. I know I'm repeating myself, but IT IS SO MUCH FUN!

So, I thought I would upload three of the digital scrapbooking pages I have designed. They are 12" x 12" in real life, and I was able to get them printed at Costco.

Enjoy!

Like what you see? Feel free to contact me for more information. I'm happy to share. I also have a personal website where you can learn more and even purchase products if you so desire.

What's The Point Of A Blog...

If You Don't Blog?

I have no idea. Hence, I decided that I should probably write something. Anything!

First, several of you commented about my "volunteer" hours at the school. I offer the following as some sort of explanation. When The Princess was accepted into this program, I was given my choice of two schools. One school required uniforms. I am not a fan of the uniform policy. The other school did not require uniforms, but I was told that they were "very pushy on co-oping." In fact, I was told that it was NOT required, but that the parents and teachers at this school would treat it like it WAS required. So I knew what I was getting in to. In addition, before The Princess was given this opportunity, I had her enrolled at a school that absolutely positively no-doubt-about-it required 3 hours of co-oping a week. Period. End of discussion. So I figured that it wouldn't be that bad. This year has been more difficult than others in working out my co-oping schedule, that's why I was so stressed. It just felt like I was never going to find a time that worked for me, and for the class. Honestly, I could've said, I can only be there on Mondays from 8:30 until 11:30, take it or leave it, and they would've had to take it because they can really only require so much. But I really wanted to be there at a time that worked for me AND for them -- and this year it was a real struggle to find it. But we've worked it out now. As tiring as co-oping can be, it really does make a difference in the classroom.

On sickness - we all seem to be doing better. For the most part, we were up and moving around the next day. The Dragon and I have had a lingering cough (I think she inherited my lungs), but no one is sick enough to stay home from school or work.

The King is working late tonight. He is hoping to install some new equipment that will hopefully let him sleep at night rather than staying up until 1 o'clock in the morning babysitting computers.

The Princess seems to be enjoying school. She says she LIKES math. Weird.

The Dragon cannot wait for her birthday on Wednesday. She is so excited to be FIVE.

Me? I think I'm loving this new Creative Memories job. I've got my first "Get Together" show scheduled for Tuesday the 18th. I'm slowly getting myself organized and trained, and becoming more familiar with the very new products that are being offered. It really is a lot of fun and I am enjoying it so far. I'm sure I will be really happy once I actually start getting paid! Seriously, getting paid for scrapbooking and playing on computers? This has got to be some kind of a dream. It's just AWESOME.

New Opportunities

A lot has happened over the past week and I haven't blogged about any of it! During the coming week, I will have close to 12 hours of "down time" as I attempt to busy myself while The Dragon is attending her preschool class. I have meals to plan, groceries to buy, coupons to clip, bills to pay, a birthday party to plan, and stuff to blog about. Hopefully I will be successful in getting this stuff done while I am sitting around. Have laptop, will travel!

BUT...

I do have some very exciting, up to the minute news to share with you...

I just signed up to be a Creative Memories consultant (again)!

I am very excited to have this opportunity as Creative Memories has changed and expanded over the past year. I can now offer "traditional scrapbooking" services, in addition to "digital scrapbooking" and "custom framing." Yahoo!

It's going to be a lot of fun, and I can't wait to get started. I'd love to share more information with you about all the great products that Creative Memories has to offer. There truly is something for everyone now, because you can even get your digital photographs printed through Creative Memories. And, I can hook you up with 20 free 4x6 prints if you are interested.

Wish me luck!
